June 2002 Newsletter
Hello Again LEDLighters!
This month we bring you good news,
and more good news. We have some very exciting product additions that many of
you and others have been searching for.
Since LED is our name and our
game, we have some new models to offer and a reduction in pricing. Our search
has turned up four new LEDs that you will learn about
later in this newsletter.
There two models of 70 degree milky white LEDs that are un-paid for, so they have become available to you. One is the T125-70W, a 3mm, 480mcd LED. The other is a 5mm with 780mcd. Both are in limited quantities so “first come first served”! Both are Nichia LEDs and are excellent for backlighting, indicators and other low-light uses.

We have been experiencing problems
with our 1-800 number and looking for ways to resolve
the situation. One disadvantage of being in a smaller town is the lack of full
service providers with good capability. If you are having problems in calling

to voice mail. Please leave a message.
Recently, the number of phone
calls to discuss ideas, products, and projects have increased substantially. We are
not able to handle the calls responsibly as we are not able to contact many of
you and end up leaving messages, or you having to call back when we are not
able to have a discussion. We strongly suggest that you email us initially, then use the phone to finalize or express what cannot be
done via email.
We are on Pacific time; you are 3 hours earlier on the East Coast; 2 hours
from the Mid West; one hour from Central or Mountain times. Our business hours

We also encourage you to use the

NEW PRODUCTS…ADDITIONS
Additions:
There are several LEDs that are new to us and we would like to have your
feedback on. One or two maybe replacing current models as we wish to keep only
what we know you will want to use in your projects. With a reminder that the
brightest is not always the best, we have added some lower intensity white and
blue models that we hope you will like.
T13/4-35W, a wider 35 degree, 3250mcd white LED with
defined light pattern that will not be considered soft as it drops off towards
the edge of the beam. Not too wide or
narrow, this is a great in-between degree LED!
T13/4-17B, a 15
degree blue but with much lower intensity that also has a defined outer
perimeter of light that does not softly drop off. If you are planning to cluster a lot of blue LEDs, this may be the way to go.
The above are from the
We have located an Agilent Red LED, T13/4-23RED, with a more
evenly distributed light pattern. The hot spot is reduced and the edges are
softer and spread wider. The 23 degree view angle has not detracted from the
intensity which is rated at 8300mcd. Check It Out!
For those who have use for a
Yellow-Green LED (T13/4-7YG), we have found what looks to be a
very good model. This Toshiba LED is almost the same color as the indicator
light used on computers. It has a very tight 7 degree beam and is more towards
the yellow shade than towards green. These are in stock and ready to ship.
LUXEON Star LED with Optics
The Lumiled
Luxeon Star LEDs as
promised are due soon! These are with
the optics that make them easier to install as a finished light source, singly
or as an array. There are specific
handling instructions that must be followed so those and the data sheets will
be posted to the website. The current
colors are white, red, blue, green and amber.
If you’d like to be notified when these are available for sale, email us
at sales@theledlight.com

Technology Associates has a way of
keeping up with the competition in a way no other manufacturer can. The ELITE X-Ray is the
latest offering and this is a beaut! With the
translucent blue case and the ‘NightBeacon’ features,
and by adding in the newest 8000mcd white LED, a magnetic back, a safety breakaway
lanyard, and feet to have it stand on end, The ELITE is an elitist, all by
itself! Check It Out Today! Better still get one now!
With the introduction of the ELITE
X-Ray, the next in line for this new model series is the ELITE Marine which will
replace the Ergo-Marine. It has the same
features of the ELITE X-Ray but does not have the blue translucent case and the
‘NightBeacon’.
The yellow composite case has been retained.
To further step up and away from
the crowd, Technology Associates has introduced the totally different yet
practical ZzzLite
and the Zzz Flame! Great for parties, as a night light, to
soothe and calm you at the end of the day, or simply as a light to watch and be
fascinated by the changing colors. Safer
and brighter than candles! The Zzz Flame is brighter.
Trident
Headlamp from StreamLight?
Yes! Great one and three LED light levels, plus a Krypton bulb in the same
housing operated by one switch, in sequence of course. The Krypton bulb is
focusable but not the LEDs which sit at the top of
the reflector. Lightweight, more than adequate LED light levels, great run time
of 150 hours at low level and tough polymer body with a scratch resistant lens.
All for $ 34.90! Can’t beat that for a bargain on a quality headlamp. The Trident also has a hard hat strap accessory
and Bi-Pin Krypton replacement bulbs.
A very good red LED flasher that
can be used as a traffic baton, safety flasher and emergency beacon. The Traffic
Baton has 14 bright red LEDs that run on 2 C
batteries for 100 + hours as a flasher. There is also a steady red light mode
that is excellent for traffic guidance or a as a red led flashlight. The Baton
is 21” long overall with a 13 ½” long
Flashing section that will be unmistakably visible up to 1 ½ miles. We also plan to test market a 7 red LED/7
green LED combination Traffic baton as well as a 3 red LED Traffic Baton next
month. Check us out on these flasher
additions.
Finally, a new version of the
popular Inova
X5 is due in July. This is the Inova X5 Tactical.
Improvements will include a 3 way twist tailcap
switch (constant on, permanent off and intermittent) allowing for complete 1
hand operation of your light. A tether
hole is being added along with stainless steel rings on the front and
bottom. This light will be made of Mil
Spec Anodized Aircraft Aluminum and will be waterproof to 150’. Pre-orders are being accepted for these
popular lights. Your card will not be
billed until the merchandise is in stock, so please enter a separate order for
this light .
On a last note and as a reminder
to check into the Infinity O-4
as a top quality keychain light for yourself or as
super gifts. Even though it is priced at
only $15.00, this light is as bright as any on the market today, is easily
handled, feels good in the hand, especially larger ones, and is purely
mechanically operated. Since it has been
on the website, we have had only one returned for a defect! Now, that is dependability, reliability and
quality!
The same applies to the Pelican L-1 in white, red
and blue-green LED. These are bright,
ergonomically balanced with a good hand feel.
The tail cap switch is a remporary push button
as well as continuous on. It has a clip
for attaching to caps and hats, and pockets.
The white LED model is again available in black or yellow body. This is another super deal at $14.00 each.
