Special Use Lights - Purple, IR and UV

Used by members of the US Secret Service, these special-purpose Photons produce a powerful infrared beam invisible to the naked eye. Rated at 11 mW, with a wide-angle beam, this tiny light is more powerful than all but the brightest IR illuminators. When used in conjunction with night vision equipment, it will illuminate a very large area. These Photons may be used with night vision scopes & goggles, or with other equipment sensitive to infrared light, such as Sony's NightShot line of video cameras. Many video surveillance cameras are also sensitive to infrared light.

Our new ultraviolet Photon is the smallest UV-checker in the world! This special-purpose Photon produces a powerful beam of ultraviolet light, which will activate fluorescent ink, strips, & fibers that are used as anti-counterfeiting measures in bank notes, credit cards, passports, checks, securities, cryptographic papers, etc. This key-chain size UV light is also great for checking fluorescent hand stamps at clubs, or any other fluorescence checking. The UV Photon features the extended housing of the Covert Photon I to protect your eyes from direct exposure to the UV light.

The beam has a fairly narrow focus and unlike a traditional blacklight, most of the light produced by the UV Photon is just outside the visible spectrum (370 nm). In full darkness, it will cause objects to flouresce at distances of 20 feet or more. In bright daylight the effectiveness is greatly reduced, but is till usable at about 6 - 12 inches.

Jewelers often find UV light as an effective aid when appraising gems.

Pest Control:
Spot rodent urine and hair. Dry rodent urine glows a blue-white if fresh to a yellow-white if old. Rodent hair glows blue-white and is easily identified on sacks or intermixed with food grains.
