Luxeon SIDE EMITTERS
have the same electrical characteristics as the Batwing and the Lambertians
but with some variations in the optical properties and in the total
luminous flux per color. SIDE EMITTERS are available in 1 watt, and
5 watt Stars and Emitters.

Luxeon STARS consists
of a 110 view angle degree Luxeon Emitter mounted to a hexagonal aluminum-core
submount. The Star is the next level of building blocks that still
allows great flexibility and easy connectability to form large light
sources in a compact size. The STARS are available in 1 watt, in 3
watts, and in 5 watts.

Luxeon STAR/O (with optics) have the optional PMMA secondary optics to create a tight collimated beam that generates a 10 degree view angle. The Star/O consists of an EMITTER mounted on an aluminum-core PCB with collimating optics. The STAR/Os are available only in 1 watt models.

Luxeon Assemblies consist of the 6-Up and 12-Up Rings, the DCC Dynamic Color Control assembly, the Line Assembly and the Flood Assembly. The Ring and Line assemblies are made from emitters with optics. The DCC and the Flood are made with emitters only.

What styles
are the LUXEONs available in?
 |
The
Batwing
or 'Low Dome' LED has a clear resin dome with an almost flat top,
thus the 'low dome' name. These project a narrower beam pattern of
110 degrees, and is used in the Star w/Optics in all colors along
with the collimator. The inclusion of the collimator effectively narrows
view angle to 10 degrees for a very focused light source. The Batwings
are available as 1 watt Emitters and Stars and as 1 watt Stars w/Optics.

 |
The Lambertian
or 'High Dome' LED has the high hemispherical dome with a wider 140
degree view angle. It is said that the high dome series project a
wider but clearer light beam and yet with the same light intensity
as the Batwings. Luminous flux values remain the same as are the other
properties. These High Dome Luxeons should provide a clearer beam
pattern while retaining or having an increased brightness level. The
Lambertians are available as 1 watt, 3 watt and 5 watt Emitters
and Stars. |
|
The Side Emitting
LEDs directs the light beam 90 degrees off the optical axis in a 360
degree rotationally symmetrical pattern. This produces a toroid of
light that is useful for lighting large opaque surface areas. Side
Emitters are as is, no Batwing or Lambertian designation. |
Why Use Luxeon Assemblies??
 |
Luxeon
Assemblies
are the answer to architectural design - indoors and out doors. In
addition, they are the perfect light source for architectural and
entertainment lighting. These assemblies are being installed in light
fixtures, being used as wall washers, as area lights in shops and
stores, studio and stage lighting, high-end lighting . Once an option,
LEDs, in particular Luxeon Assemblies, have shown the ability to efficiently
and effectively replace incandescent and even fluorescent lighting
when properly applied. The Luxeon Assemblies offer the readiness and
ease of lighting. Seeing is believing - a
tour of Luxeon Lighting. |
