Operating Temperature Guide for LED Products

Understanding what operating temperature means

Throughout our website, you will see operating temperature as a specification for many of our products. Operating temperature means ambient temperature and not by any means, surface temperature.

Understand that if you are installing LED lights in Phoenix Arizona or somewhere else where the thermometer on the corner bank sign frequently reads 100 degrees or more, that the surface temperature on a roof or on the side of a building in direct sun or on a metal sculpture or some such thing, is going to be much, much hotter than that. LED products will not withstand temperatures beyond what is stated in the specifications.

The same thing applies to cold temperatures. If you are in the northern parts of the US, Alaska or Canada, wind chill will have a profound effect upon the operating characteristics of the products you purchase, as will a coating of ice or snow.

Under no circumstances does warranty cover damage due to temperatures above or below the operating temperatures stated for the products.
