FACTS:
- 1. What is the Venetian stone made of?
An LED chip encased in massive polyester that has been tested and approved
under DIN EN-60598-1. It has also received certificates of approval by
TUV and GS (European testing).
- 2. How do they work?
The stone works off a 12VDC LED transformer. It is recommended for underwater
application that they be run from a GFI protected circuit.
- 3. How much power does it use? How long will it last?
The Venetian stone operates at .20 watts, .017 amps, when connected to
a 12-volt transformer. At 8 hours per day, the "Venetian" stone will stay
lit for 80,000 - 100,000 hours (35 years)!
- 4. What are the applications?
Outdoor applications include driveways, walkways, patios, retaining walls,
landscape lighting, etc. Underwater applications include swimming pools,
spas, fountains, aquascapes, waterfalls, etc. Indoor applications include
countertops, back splashes, tub enclosures, etc. Additionally, the Venetian
stone can be connected to a 9-volt battery and be used as a night-light
or hurricane light. Illumination can last up to 4 days on a 9-volt battery.
- 5. Are they resistant to salt?
Yes! If you live in a city that experiences a harsh winter, any de-icing
salt will not harm the Venetian stone.
- 6. Can they really be driven over?
Under the class of testing criteria in DIN Standards, the Venetian can
be driven over by anything but a military tank. The durability of the
"Venetian" Stone was tested to the extreme. An outrigger attached to a
20 ton Truck, filled with sand and stone was placed on top of the stone,
and lifted the truck off the ground. After this was repeatedly done, the
stone was not damaged.
- 7. Is it temperature resistant?
Whether it is the hottest summer or the coldest winter, the Venetian stone
has been designed to withstand the most severe climate conditions.
- 8. How many lights can run off a single transformer?
LED transformers come in a variety of sizes to run as many lights as you
need for your project. Click
Here to see the 4 sizes we stock. If a larger transformer is required,
we can have it built.
- 9. How are they installed?
Installation is very easy, even if you are not a professional. Use a 12VDC
transformer, a suitable 12VDC underground wire, and waterproof connections.
Please see installation instructions. Important: Check all Local and State
Building Codes before installation.
- 10. Can these be applied in beachfront property that has turtle control
lighting?
These lights are ideal for beachfront lighting. The Venetian stone is
set into the ground, pier, or walkway facing up and the light source is
not seen. This is critical because hatchlings are attracted to the brightest
light sources. It is also recommended that red lights be used near the
beach because it is the least intrusive to the turtles.
