The Streamlight LED penlight flashlights have been around for as long as I can remember in this business. Shaped like a pen and available in different LED colors and body colors, the Stylus III has been a long time favorite. It fits in a pocket or a purse and can be engraved with your company logo. The light level is low enough so as not to disturb other diners while perusing the menu in a a fine restaurant or reading a program in a dimly lit theatre. Yet it's bright enough to see your key into the lock or light the path directly in front of you in dark or inclement weather. It's also been a favorite of many doctors and EMT's who need to peer into your ears or nose or other cavernous parts not so well lit on their own.
Two short years ago, Streamlight introduced the Polystylus. Brilliant! The Polystylus LED pen flashlights are water resistant, and what's more, they have separate colored LED modules which are interchangeable. You buy just one Polystylus which comes with a white LED module, and can change the color to red, blue or green with a simple twist.
Great for night vision and map reading, the colored modules are desired by pilots, military personnel and astronomers. We've also had some very positive feedback from photography professionals. With slow timing, the actual path of colored light like this can be photographed for stunning effects.
Lo and behold, it seems as if Streamlight wasn't able to market these brilliant little LED flashlight kits as well as they wanted to, and the product has been taken off the 2014 order form for distributors.
