New LED Lights - 3 Way LED Light Bulbs and New 100W Equivalent LED Light Bulbs
At last! 3 way and high wattage output LED light bulbs in a traditional A21 shape. No chunky heat sinks or mushroom like halos
October 21, 2015
LED light bulbs sure have come a long way since the turn of the 21st century. At first we saw 5mm LED arrays placed into a socket. There were no lens covers back in the day. Concerns about heat build up got a lot of attention. Keep in mind that back in the early 2000's, the 'big boys' weren't producing LED light bulbs or other LED products. There were only a small hand full of forward thinking engineers here in the USA who were creating things like LED flashlights, clusters, and finally LED bulbs and fixtures. The PALight was the first LED flashlight we brought to market, shortly followed by a number of LED clusters, strips, bulbs and fixtures engineered by our long term friend and associate, engineer Bill Hollibaugh. LEDs quickly became brighter and better. Heat sinking issues were solved, and yet, for a very long time, we've been stuck with chunky monkey LED light bulbs.
Not so today. The first 100 watt equivalent and 3 way bulbs that actually produced a 300 degree omni directional light output (known as omnidirectional LED light bulbs) looked like the ones on the left. Wow, they were bright, and produced a very nice light. But ... they were very large and very heavy and sometimes did not fit well under fixture glass or within the harp in a table lamp. We still have a few of these left, so if you're looking for a LED bargain and don't have a size issue, have a look at our specials page. You will also find other LED light bulb bargains on that page.
On the right, you'll see the latest 100W and 30-70-100W 3 way omnidirectional LED light bulb. Not only is it the same shape as the traditional incandescent A21 lamp you are used to, but it's the same size as well. What's more, it can be used in a totally enclosed fixture unlike many of its predecessors. All of this is possible by use of highly intelligent engineering which overcame the heat build up and optical emission issues. Best of all, pricing is very reasonable. One of the benefits of mass production is cost reduction.
It can be tricky to run a LED lighting store. Product quickly becomes obsolete. More efficient, brighter products become available at an alarmingly high rate. So sourcing most of our product lines from producers who maintain warehouses here in the USA eliminates the need for us to buy hundreds or thousands of a product from an offshore factory. That being said, we keep our stock up to date, and sell off older technology at a good discount.
So what are you waiting for? The time is now to switch out those energy gobblers for energy saving, long lasting LED light bulbs. Have questions? We're here to help.
