LED Lights: The Future of Energy Efficient Lighting

LED (Lighting Emitting Diodes) are energy efficient lights which produce quality light. A semiconductor crystal with the help of reflectors and with electrical support, produces a very bright illumination. The energy efficiency level of LED is increasing tremendously. In future generations, LED lights will be the most widely accepted lights world-wide and will be applied commonly for general lighting purposes. At present, LED lights are efficient and can produce 120 lumens per watt. LEDs emit brighter light than other traditional lights. Moreover, many manufacturers are developing business plan strategies to face the market challenges on how to manage production levels, making LED lighting more and more affordable. All things considered, LED lights are the Future of Energy Efficient Lighting.

The average Life Span of LED light is 30K Hours to 50K hours. Although the LED light may be ON for 8-10 hours in a day, the life expectancy would be approximately 9 to 10 years. Thus, the headache of frequent changing of light bulbs will be permanently solved by using LED lights. Additionally, frequent on and off cycling of LED lights will not have any impact on the life span. This is not the case with incandescent lights and fluorescent lights which are impacted by on/off cycling.

The cost incurred on LED lights leads to lower power bills when compared with the other traditional and incandescent light. You enjoy a direct cost Saving due to less maintenance cost, with the added advantage of long life. LED light uses 329KWh per year whereas incandescent lights use around 3285KWh per year. Hence, you can experience substantial annual cost savings.

LED Lights are environmentally friendly lights and they protect the environment from ¡§gas emissions¡¨. The concept "Go-Green" is certainly possible world-wide with the help of LED lights. LED Lights don¡¦t contain any toxic mercury as CFL¡¦s do. LED lights are RoHS compliant and require no special disposal procedures. As the use of LED lighting grows, we can decrease CO2 emissions, reduce nuclear waste and sulfur oxide emmisions which is certainly an advantage to all of the earth. We are all concerned about health and safety, and toxic emmisions threaten our well being.

LED Lights are much less sensitive to temperature extremes. The durability of the LED lights is excellent when compared with incandescent lights and fluorescent lights. LED lights produce little heat, so are ideal for home lighting, commercial lighting, and lighting even sensitive fabrics or artifacts.

Engineers are finding new uses for LED lights every day. You will find them used as display lighting in many commercial settings, in televisions, remotes, watches, cellular mobiles, computers, car locking equipment, traffic signals, interior car decoration and exterior car decorations. This wide-spread use of LED lighting demonstrates consumer confidence in this growing technology. The time to start using LED lighting in your home, office or business is now. Go Green and be a wise consumer!
